To all random visitors:All right, I reviewed my nominations for the top 100 songs of all time and I noticed some genre holes that I need help filling in. I have almost no disco songs. I’m not a specialist on disco so I need some guidance. Bee Gees? Gloria Gayner? I'm lagging with the awesome ‘80s. I’ve got some G’n’R and other such, but I want stuff more along the lines of Ah-ha’s Take Me On. The Bengals? Police? Huey Lewis? Prince? Just click that little "addendum" tag in the byline. While I’m on the subject… I could easily have this list dominated by four or five artists. How do I strike a balance? If I truly believe, for example, that Zeppelin, Dylan, Hendrix, Pearl Jam, and The Wu-Tang Clan each deserve 10 songs in the top 100, then 5 bands dominate half of the list. This really limits the diversity of the list. It’s like those silly statistics you hear about how 90% of America’s wealth is controlled by 3% of the population. Um, that was stretching a simile like a brittle rubber band. Damn. The whole world loves it when you make that sound |
