Coffee Crew Kickoff
Operation: Coffee Crew was a success and a nucleus was formed for next week’s rendezvous. The participants included myself, SSDiabolique, Head-Knocker(LC), Anti-Shen, and Fast Kenny. We met at Stella’s at 11:00AM and chilled for two hours. Perfect. I enjoyed the intimacy of the event and am now hesitant to invite more people. I feel I get more out of a conversation if it’s regulated to three or so people. Brooklyn couldn’t make it because he was down in Colorado Springs and G$ bagged with a vague excuse about a hectic weekend. Also no MC Ken, we originally scheduled this for Saturday and when it was moved to Sunday MC Ken couldn’t make it. No problem guys, maybe next week. I think I’ll extend invites to benz-oh and jue. You, the reader, are also welcome.

Anti-Shen posed an interesting idea that thought and consciousness are two separate things. Thought is mechanistic in nature while consciousness exists independently of thought. This begs certain questions about the interrelationship of these two ideas. My main interest in this duality is as it relates to my proposed theory that immortality is equivalent to non-existence. Perhaps immortality is the same as thought without consciousness, or visa versa. To really nail this down, I need to construct definitions for consciousness and thought. Maybe later. Why do I feel like some philosopher somewhere, sometime has already blazed this trail and I’m spinning my wheels doing work that’s already been done. Maybe I should try choking down some classic philosophy essays or articles. Blech.

Late last night the Mormon Missionaries stopped by. We’re talking 9:15PM! A little late for my old ass. They’re nice kids, though. This is about the fifth visit from them and we’ve progressed past talking about religion to just hanging out and shooting the breeze. It wasn’t until last night that I realized they were just kids, too. Both of the Missionaries just turned 21… young pups. Last night was a little intrusive, though. SSDiaboliqe and I rented Orange County and were about ready to watch it, but after the Mormons left it was too late and I had to return the movie to Blockbuster unwatched.

Just an aside.
