Me-Maw
Yesterday or perhaps the day before, me-maw passed away. I met her once about two years ago, so I really can’t ramble on about what a great person she was. She was SSDiabolique’s third grandmother for all intents and purposes. She was the lady who lived across the street form SSDiabolique in Eastpoint (Georgia) and helped SSDiabolique along the path to adulthood. From what SSDiabolique says, me-maw was sweet caring lady.

So now things are all convoluted and complicated. Are we all flying to Georgia or not? The first thing SSDiabolique tells me after she relayed the sad news was, “We have to go to Georgia tomorrow.” All right, a little short on notice but that can’t be avoided in these circumstances. Grammy even offered to spring for the airfare for me and Tweek-bow(LC). (Papa retired from Delta Airlines, so being his daughter SSDiabolique gets to fly standby on Delta for less than $50.) …I am going to Georgia.

After I get home from work, we check out on-line ticket prices. On this short of notice we can’t find anything on Delta for less than one-grand a pop. Ouch. Discovering the steep price we resolve ourselves with the idea that SSDiabolique will go solo and I’ll chill here with Tweek-bow. …I am NOT going to Georgia.

After talking with grammy we decide Tweek-bow and I will fly separately on a different airline. Grammy will find tickets online at Expedia.com or some other similar service. Cool. …I am going to Georgia.

Late last night we get a call from grammy informing us that the search came up empty. …I am NOT going to Georgia.

SSDiabolique calls papa to inquire about Delta buddy passes that would allow Tweek-bow and me to fly standby just like SSDiabolique. After digging for buddy passes and striking gold, papa calls us after midnight to deliver the good news. …I am going to Georgia.

Well the final chapter isn’t written quite yet. We have to fly standby and if the 6:00PM flight is booked then we’re screwed because the funeral is early on Friday. I despise living with this uncertainty. I have no clue what the hell I’ll be doing this weekend. I might be rolling into work tomorrow at 6:30AM or I might be thousands of miles away at a funeral. My fragile psyche can’t function under these variables.

We’re just two lost souls living in a fish bowl.
