Cawfee
Attendees at Sunday’s Coffee Crew included SSDiabolique, Lyse-All(LC), Tiff, and yours truly with special guest appearances by the Anti-Shenry and mom. I bought Lyse-All a big ass brownie garnished with chocolate chips. Initially, the choco chips confused and baffled her, but after a couple of tentative bights she realized the value of those little brown gems. Instead of eating the brownie, she decided to mine it for all the chocolate chips. She did quite a thorough job of reducing the desert to an analogue of its primordial state of sugar grains and powdered flour. After running the remnants through a #200 sieve she was convinced that all the chocolate hunks had been devoured and then she promptly lost interest in the ruins of her excavation. This is about when I began to fixate on the brownie dust. By pinching the moist mud I could form it much like clay. My initial reflex was to reconstruct the brownie by molding the pieces into a nice flat square, but then my artistic side got hold of me and I began to sculpt. My first piece of work turned out, quite accidentally, to be the skull of bird. Then the obvious hit me and I grasped the perfect form for my moist dark-brown media. I began rolling the brown-ness in my hands, working it into a bumpy cylinder. I worked furiously adding the necessary details that only the most tortured artist can bring to life. Sweat streaked off my forehead stinging my eyes, but through the unclouded vision of my mind’s eye I pushed the pain to a remote corner of my dusty brain. I gasped as I beheld the fruits of my creative uterus… A perfect log of poo lay glistening in my hands. My gasp drew the attention of SSDiabolique and Tiff, and they stared quietly transfixed at my beatific marvel. I must say that I was quite proud of myself. I knew what I had to do next; I needed to dangle the poo over my mouth and consume that which I had created in a matter befitting my angst-ridden artistic plight. SSDiabolique, however, was faster than I, and she snatched the poo out of my hands and mangled it until it was unidentifiable. Then she dropped it in a half drunken cup of iced coffee. So sad and so anticlimactic.

The dust has finally settled on the field of human clay
