The RingWent to see The Ring Sunday with the Anti-Shenry, MC Ken, Tiff, and SSDiabolique. This was, of course, after we had coffee at Stella’s. Scary stuff, man. I was a wee bit peeved when the theatre turned on the ugly lights right after the final scene and right before the credits. (You know ugly lights… you’re hitting on some hottie at the bar thinking, “Oh yeah, I’m going score tonight” and then CLICK! The lights turn on ‘cause it’s closing time and you fall off your bar stool ‘cause your prospective hottie is revealed to have a botched facelift. Ugh! Oh well, if you’re like me you were too hammered to get it up anyway.) Yeah, I like hanging out in the dark watching the movie credits scroll by; it’s decompression time. It drives SSDiabolique bonkers. C’mon let the movie sink in, this is the prime time to reflect upon all aspects of the movie without being judgmental. So many people scurry out of their seats as fast as they can and begin critiquing the movie as soon as they hit daylight. Once the analysis and criticism begins, the lingering cinematic aftertaste is scraped away. This definitely works to my advantage after seeing a crappy movie, rip it to shreds like so much string cheese and purge my palate. However, after a respectable movie, such as The Ring, I want to savor the flavor and enjoy the emotional aftermath.Anyway, Your Role Model has a ticklish review here. |
