Sweet Benz-Oh

My bro scored tickets to this Sunday’s Broncos/Colts game. He snaked ‘em from his in-laws and asked me out on a date. Unfortunately it’s an evening game, which means as soon as I finish typing this I’m shooting an e-mail over to MK informing him that I feel ill and I may not make it into work on Monday. Today’s temperature may breach the balmy 70’s (Fahrenheit) but the ever-accurate meteorologists are forecasting snow and subfreezing temperatures for game time. I’m not exactly sure where the seats are, but does it really matter? If they’re club level then maybe we’ll have access to a posh heated seating area.
I haven’t seen a game at the new
Invesco stadium, or the diaphragm as some of us like to call it. All of my best old school
Mile High Stadium memories center on my grandpa and my brother. My grandpa and his friend, Joe, each had two season tickets on the 50-yard line. The fact that the seats were on the absolutely highest row only added to the experience. Sure, the players were tiny undistinguishable orange beetles, but that’s what binoculars are for. I wonder if they still allow thermoses into the stadium? Back in the day Joe used to pack a thermos of hot chocolate for Benz-oh and me. Maybe I’ll attempt to smuggle one in. I think I could fit a moderate sized thermos in my colon. Oh, I also have a virgin hipflask that I need to break in. I got it last Christmas from MK and have yet to use it, except for letting El-Sea sip water out of it. I bet I still have all of my ticket stubs from those games. That was back in the early 1980’s when professional sports tickets were affordable to the common man. I should check the face value of my old stubs.
Thanks for inviting me, Benz-oh; let’s kick old school style circa ’83.
