Stella’s SolarisYesterday at Stella’s we had seven people crowded around a table that would have comfortable seated four, me, SSDiabolique, El-Sea, Mom, Thurtub, Anti-Shenry, and G$. I hadn’t seen G$ since his Hey Everybody, I Eloped! party in June. Oddly, that was the party that spurned the standing weekly Sunday coffee gathering at Stella’s. Looking back on the coffee crew ab ovo, I’m happy with its evolution. It’s not quite as grandiose as I envisioned, but there is a nice chemistry between the regular attendees and the occasional random invitee keeps the conversation from getting stale. After coffee, I went to see Solaris with SSDiabolique and Anti-Shen. El-Sea tagged along also, but she slept through the entire two hours. I don’t blame her, that movie was SLOW. This review pretty much sums up the movie and it’s underlying themes. The most interesting question posed by Solaris is this: As long as I’m happy, is the construct of my reality relevant? For example, does it matter if reality is subjective or objective so long as I am content? |
