Gym musicThe Bally Total Fitness I frequent usually pipes in techno-lite. I’m okay with it; it’s got a bouncy energetic feel without angry vibes that screw with my zen-like approach to lifting weights. Techno-lite isn’t my musical mainstay, but it’s better than trying to lift in synch with adult contempo or smooth jazz (not classic jazz, smooth jazz). The last two days, though, they’ve been piping in classic rock. I like classic rock... I mean, I really like classic rock, but half of it doesn’t have that special work out vibe. As much as I love Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here doesn’t get me pumped to exert myself. Wish You Were Here makes me want to curl up in a melancholy ball and shut myself out from the rest of the world. I’m getting quite a kick out of the classic rock. While the hyper-trendy young professionals are perplexed by the lack of techno, I bobbed and swayed to Bruce Springsteen’s 8-minute masterpiece Rosalita. I wonder what kind of music Bally will be piping in tomorrow? |
