...for a weekMy work is sending me away for a week. They are shipping me off to the western side of the state, specifically to Durango and Grand Junction. Durango is a tiny college town nestled in the Four-Corners area and Grand Junction is a small retirement town amid vineyards and orchards. I’m taking Sherry and Lori, so the trip will be a pseudo-vacation.That means limited internet access, so The Book will be stagnant for a while. This is doubly sad since my blogiversary is this upcoming Thursday. I wanted to do something special for those who make an effort to peruse The Book from time to time. Until I return, here are some follow-ups to unfinished tales that may keep you amused: Top 100 Songs of All Time My first post ever was a list of 300+ nominees for the top 100 songs of Shenry’s mind. Yeah, I finished it. If it was a top 101 list then Def Leppard’s Pour Some Sugar on Me would’ve made the cut. Too bad, though. The cool thing is it’s my top 100, which makes it invulnerable to criticism. Here’s the deal for you readers: If you are interested, I’ll burn you a 8-disk set and send it your way. Drop me an email, yo. Blog Development Turns out that The Book is 2-parts life and 1-part other. And, yes, my mom does have this url. Hi ma! Man-purse An inventory of my shoulder bag taught me a little more about myself. Perhaps it’s time to revisit the inventory and see how much I’ve changed. Thyroid I still believe my doctor is wrong, goddamnit. He claims I’m hypothyroidal. I say he’s full of shit. I believe a continuous low-calorie carbohydrate-restricted diet (much like the diet I was on all summer last year) will cause abnormally high TSH levels in the bloodstream. Do your own research next time, doc. Of course a follow-up blood test couldn’t hurt... except I fear needles the way a kicked dog fears steal toed boots. Children No. I still don’t want any. Sports Page I finally identified the slob of engineer who was steeling the sports page from the bathroom stall. What an ass. Now, I glance through the sport page before I take it into the bathroom. If there are more than two or three articles that I’m interested in, then I leave it behind. Penis Names He still goes by “Mr. Happy.” Business Cards All talk, no action. I haven’t dropped one business card in a free lunch jar since I then. Every time I see one of those jars I frantically frisk myself only to find no business cards. Yeah, I’m weak. Thanks for reading. |
