ColorsI’m tired of my eyes bleeding every time I visit my own blog. I really wanted the hot-pink and fluorescent-green thing to work. Sure the colors grabbed me… they grabbed me and beat me down like I was their toothless bitch. I’ll save that color scheme for another day. You know, whip it out on special occasions and stuff.ModelI present another trial color scheme. This one is modeled after the new Denver Nuggets’ jersey, which is the most un-intimidating color combination since… well, since the old school rainbow jersey of the 1980s Nuggets. Oddly, the pansy 1980s jersey and the fragile powder-blue & gold jersey of today are separated by a wicked-awesome 1990s jersey. The jersey of the ‘90s looked like fresh burgundy blood splattered across an apocalyptic sky of unnaturally deep navy-blue. I have no idea why the Nuggets jettisoned their excellent ‘90s look for this new wannabe-college color combo. Perhaps the jersey of the future will be hot-pink and fluorescent-green like my recently defunct blog style. I can only hope. The Denver NuggetsThe color of the jersey doesn’t matter; the team matters. Right? I love my crappy Nuggets. They are a rock of stability in today’s ever-dynamic sports scene. These days a crappy sports team can reverse its fortune within a year and win it all, while the mighty teams of yesteryear are reduced to inconsequential sub-.500 records. Team fortunes change so fast that I can’t keep track of the good and the bad. Not the Nuggets though, they have and always will be bad. I can count on them to suck. I don’t pretend. I don’t delude myself. When I watch the Nugs, I know they are going to lose, though I still cheer for them with all my might.I love my Nuggets. GO NUGGETS! Earl BoykinsIf you can, try to catch one Nuggets game this year and check out Earl Boykins. At 5’ 5” and 135-lbs this guy is amazing. (Coincidentally, those are Sherry’s exact stats also.) Watching him fearlessly attack or defend opponents who are a foot taller than him is inspiring. Earl is my new main-man. Latrell Sprewell will always be my sports spirit guide, but Earl is my new model for tenacity.ReadabilityIf you have difficulty reading the new color scheme please let me know and I’ll try tweaking it. |
