come test a champion
Oh, yea! I get to take a test. Not only do I get to take a test, but I have the privilege of paying to take the test. My application for taking the Professional Engineering Examination was accepted. Thank you, Board of Registration for Civil Engineers. Thank you for finding my resume and credentials acceptable. Thank you for accepting my $100 check for "application fees". Thank you for deeming me worthy of paying you $175 to take your honorable 8-hour test.

Perhaps I should dial down the acerbic tone; I might incur the wrath of the all-wondrous Board of Registration. Besides, I've already voiced my displeasure at this convoluted process (here), and there is no reason to repeat what I have said. I do have a new gripe, though, that I wish to make public. Why does it take 3-months to respond to my application? I noticed that the Board didn't hesitate to cash my check immediately, yet they sure took their time trying to determine my worthiness. How hard can it be? Heads, Stephen takes the test; Tails, he has to wait another 6-months. This delayed response to my application may disqualify me from taking the formal refresher course offered by the University of Colorado. The course starts this Saturday… as in 4-days from today.

None of this surprises me, though. Stupid engineers. They are all stupid, every single one of them… us… whatever.
