Wonder Sherry
I almost screwed up this Valentine's Day; I almost got Sherry something she wanted. Then I realized that given all the birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries, Mother's Days, and Flag Days there are plenty of opportunities to spoil Sherry with stuff she wants. Valentine's Day is the one day --sanctioned by the calendar and society-- when I can give her a Wonder Woman costume.

So I gave her a Wonder Woman Costume.

Yes, my inner prepubescent comic book geek fantasy was realized. Tie me up with your lasso of truth and ask me what I really want. Please, Wonder Woman, be gentle.

For $30 I thought the costume would be total cheese, like those week-ass plastic mask outfits from K-Mart that lazy parents (such as myself) buy their 5-year-olds. I was pleasantly disappointed on that account. The seams are solid, the tiara isn't plastic, and the costume fits snugly. My only complaint is that the lasso of truth could've been a bit longer; it's only 4-ft long.

I'd like to offer my many, many thanks to Sherry for putting up with me and humoring me… even if it was for a mere 10-minutes. Hey, that's all I needed to dig out the camera and snap a couple of pictures. Last year she had to deal with the goth-schoolgirl outfit and this year it was Wonder Woman.

Long live Valentine's Day… as long as Sherry puts up with me, anyway. Now, it's time to start thinking about next year's gift.
