I don't know Kevin Jackson, but I owe him a debt that can never be repaid. He saved my friend's life. By "friend" I don't mean "friend of a friend who I've met once or twice", I mean "friend I've know for over a dozen years and hang out with on a regular basis"… neko. (My most recent nod to neko here.)

Neko prefers on-line anonymity, so I'm doing my best not to screw things up here. The story she told me last night on the phone was frightening and remarkable. I'm not going to repeat it; it's her tale to tell when she is ready to tell it. Neko has posted a very brief fragment at nekoecho and The Rocky Mountain News picked up the story (neko's name withheld). Frightening and remarkable.
