That's funny. She gets this anti-Bush vibe from Sherry, who has been rather vocal about her distaste for the current administration.

My brother told me a weird story. Last week, Benz-oh's neighbor asked him to watch his 9 and 12-year-old boys. So, the three of them are playing Monopoly on Benz-oh's living room floor when the elder brother decides to let Benz-oh in on a little secret:

"We [that is the two neighbor kids] have penis chips."

After a bit of whispered discussion, Benz-oh discovers that these two kids believe their parents have implanted electronic devises in their penises. These penis chips will signal the parents when the kids become sexually active. The neighbor kids went so far as to claim that some of their school friends have penis chips, too. I wonder where the parents found this gem of a parenting technique?

funny things kids say that drive their parents crazy:

Lori stated: I want a white boyfriend.

Oh crap.

(I'm dodging the race issue for the moment) Lori is only 6-years-old; she's in first grade. Why is she thinking about boys and boyfriends? It must be the fluorescent lighting and hormones in beef. I thought I didn't have to worry about boys for another 6-years.

As for the white supremacy sentiment… Like the anti-Bush remark, Lori gets her racist tendencies from Sherry. I'm totally kidding!

Sherry and I handled it by pointing out that friends --not just boyfriends-- should be chosen based upon the merits their character. Then we used specific examples. Her best friend Jose is Mexican. Our good buddy Brooklyn is Vietnamese. The loveable sisters, Stormi and Kali, are black. Emerald is part Japanese. And our most "different" friend is Rufus… he's 100% naked mole rat. All of these people (and mole rats) are kind, dependable, and generous. They all make great friends.
