pictures of stuff

I posted several pictures of Sherry's birthday dinner over at buzznet (clicky on thumbs with thumbs):
Dinner was fun… but clubbing was better. Sherry, Genie, The Anti-Shenry, and I hit The Church and then Club Vinyl right around closing time. Our group was a perfect mix: two wanted to dance and the other two wanted to chill. At The Church, I finally learned the difference between a bad dj and a good dj. Techno not being my strong suite, I can't quite articulate the difference. The opening dj sucked. I hit the dance floor and just stood there with Genie, neither of us knew what to do with the weak rhythms and spastic changeups. The second dj was better as we were able to settle into a groove and dance. I believe my sober state had a lot to do with this new insight. And this brings up a tangential point (remember that I don't know jack shit about techno): What is the difference between techno, club, trance, industrial, rave, house, euro-dance, euro-house, euro-techno, and techno-industiral-whatnot? Anybody feel like tossing me some mp3s to highlight the differences?

…

I've also tossed up a three-picture montage of me donating my brain to science.

…

And now, I'm off to have an early lunch with my loving grandmother. I chose a restaurant within walking distance so that she wouldn't offer to pick me up… her 83-year driving scares the living fuck out of me.

…I'm off and walkin'.
