Saturday I passed my yellow belt test. Woo-hoo! I'm 9-years from black, baby. Sherry passed the test, too. Poor Lori didn't, though. I'll work with her really hard this week and she'll retest on Saturday. Hopefully she'll pass soon. Brook said she's really close; she just needs to work on her ground defenses. Not bad for a 6-year-old.
Yesterday I almost spent $3,500 I don't have on a 42-inch Philips plasma hdtv. It was a "no-box, no-remote" discount. Normally, such a tv cost $4,500. Plus, BestBuy was running their 24-months without interest financing. What a deal. It's not like I was spending $3,500; I was saving $1,000. Anyway, I walked out of the store empty-handed, except
Kung-Fu Season 2 and
Pale Rider. Quite responsible of me, if I do say so myself. It took so much effort and self-control. Today, if I have time, I'll do some internet research to quantify the deal. There is a possibility that the price is too good to pass up. Plus, I've been hearing whispers around work that management is thinking about promoting me. Cha-ching! A promotional raise would easily cover the cost of the tv.
I have an all day training class at work today... until 5PM. Don't people realize that I leave work by (not necessarily at) 2:30. Of course this is my excuse to leave shortly after lunch this Friday. Hey, I'm working like 10-hours today. Oh the inhumanity!
Tomorrow, I've got a jury summons that I need to answer. Some people get all pissed about jury duty. I kinda dig it, it's like I'm in control of somebody's fate. Obey me! My word is law! Could be sweet; could be suck. I'll have to wait and see.
And it's off to
Pavement Lifecycle Cost Analysis class for me.
