shenright 16.0: mass transit

Mass transit is shenright. Shenry, himself, busses to work four times a week. He cuts through his ghetto alley and walks two-blocks to the bus stop on Santa Fe Drive. At 5:42AM the 1A Bus picks him up. Ten-minutes and 4-miles later the 1A drops shenry at the intersection of Cherry Creek Drive North and Colorado Boulevard. Shenry waits about 5-minutes for the #40, which takes him the final mile of his commute. Sometimes on warm summer mornings, shenry walks the final mile and revels in the calm glow of his still-sleeping city. Shenry has a car --an ugly, dirty, dysfunctional, piece of shit VW Golf-- but he prefers the bus. In a typical month, shenry saves over 150-miles of gas-burning, fume-spewing driving.

So let's all take the bus every once and a while. Preserving our environment and conserving our resources is shenright.

…

I should probably stop shenright 16.0 right here, but I wouldn't feel shenright if I didn't add a couple of caveats to the shenrightness of mass transit. The most common form of mass transit is public transportation. In a purely shenright world, mass transit would not be funded by taxpayer dollars; it would be funded by private industry using workable supply-demand/expense-profit models. We have a long way to go to achieve shentopia, and in the meantime we'll have to play the cards we're dealt. Public transportation will do for now.

Ill-conceived lightrail plans with a $4.7-billion price tag to be paid off using a 0.04% tax hike, and a completion date that coincides with Lori's freshmen year of college (2016) is shenwrong per the prior paragraph. Besides, if you had 4.7-billion and 12-years to make your city a better place what would you do?

And now I'm done.
